If opposing teams and fans thought the Lady Warriors may take a step back after winning back-to-back titles, they quickly had their dreams dashed Monday. The Centertown girls team continues to look like a favorite for another elementary championship in its opening game.
The Lady Warriors showed off some new star in a 24-13 victory over the Morrison Lady Eagles. Lyvia Wilson matched Morrison on her own, finishing with a game-high 13 points.
Sophie Pepper added six points in the victory while June Cossitt tossed in three points and Julia Potter had two points for the Lady Warriors.
