Jeff Hill has been all over the Southeast umpiring world tournament softball games. But for the last 20 years or so, Hill has traded those interstate miles for the cozy confines of Midway where he’s settled in as a fixture behind the plate. “People will probably tell you I’m blind and can’t see,” said Hill, 56, when asked about being a softball umpire.
