Carter Lee, 10, made an impressive catch while attending his first Atlanta Braves game.
Over the weekend, Carter caught a foul ball hit by Washington Nationals’ Kurt Suzuki during the fifth inning at the home game.
Although the Braves lost, the incredible experience is one Lee won’t soon forget.
“It was awesome. I had the best time of my life,” says Carter.
Lee attended the game with his mom, Casi Wood, and his aunt Kelly Wood. Kelly surprised Carter with the Braves’ tickets as a present for his birthday.
“I was very, very excited to learn I was going to my first ever professional baseball game. My aunt Kelly also gave me a Braves’ jersey to wear,” says Carter. “This was the best birthday present ever!”
Carter’s favorite baseball team is the Atlanta Braves, and his favorite player is Ozhaino “Ozzie” Albies. Carter prefers baseball over the many other sports he’s involved in, and he hopes to become a professional baseball player when he grows up.
Carter has been participating in baseball for six years. This summer, he was on the team Twice the Ice and traveled with the McMinnville Stars. Carter will be a fifth-grader at Hickory Creek Elementary this coming year.
