Blaine Wilson helps run the offense for the Boyd Broncos and Monday against Daniel-1 Academy Wilson he scored six points in the 64-57 win over the Lions.

The Boyd Broncos final stop in their four-game road trip ended in Cookeville on Monday night versus Daniel 1 Academy.
It came down to the wire but the Broncos escaped with a 64-57 victory and improved their record to 4-1 in the Middle Tennessee Athletic Conference. The Bronco offense was led by Tyler Beaty who scored 21 points.
The Lions are led by 6-foot-7 Michael Cody who has averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks per game.
The Broncos kept the Lions and Cody mostly in check for the first half and took a 30-24 lead into halftime. However it was after the break the Lions cranked up their efforts on both ends of the floor and eventually claimed a 40-39 lead going into the fourth.
The Lions began to hit from deep and found Cody in the paint. Daniel 1 also applied full-court pressure on the Boyd offense for the first time in the game.
The lead changed twice in the fourth quarter but it wasn’t until a late rally by Beaty the Broncos would take the lead for good. Beaty posted 10 of his team-high 21 points in the fourth frame alone. It was Beaty who outrebounded and blocked shots that closed the door on Cody and the Lions for good.
Boyd defeated Daniel-1 Academy by a final score of 64-57. The Broncos will be in action Friday versus Covenant Academy with a tipoff scheduled for 6 p.m. at McMinnville Civic Center.
