All-star team finishes second

The 14-year-old Warren County all-star baseball team recently placed second in the district tournament and advanced to play in the state tournament.Competing at the Park View Babe Ruth field in Cookeville Saturday, July 13, Warren County was able to navigate a field of five teams to a second-place finish.Things started off rocky in the tournament when Warren County started play with a 5-2 loss to Fentress County July 11. In the game, Anthony Palmer took the loss as he allowed four unearned runs in relief of starting pitcher Jamey Jennings. Jennings and A.D. Majors each had two hits in the loss while Ethan Mikkola added a single.Warren County started its battle out of the loser’s bracket Friday by downing Lebanon 8-1.
