Emma Woodlee can always remember 2024 as the year she rewrote the record books at WCHS. The standout cross country athlete became the fastest female in school history in the fall, setting a record time of 20:06 when she qualified for the state tournament.

Woodlee, who set and reset the record four times during the year, ended up finishing 84th overall in the state tournament. It was the first time any Lady Pioneer had ever ran in the TSSAA state cross country meet.

During the year. Woodlee collected countless medals as a top-10 finisher at multiple events. She also won the Battle of the Badges event held in Nashville, leading the Lady Pioneers to victory as the top overall finisher.

Woodlee was able to accomplish so many firsts for the program despite just being a freshman. She had the seventh-fastest time of any freshman in the state event, meaning her best could still be yet to come.
