In his nearly six years in McMinnville, city administrator David Rutherford has been a convenient punching bag, albeit a well-paid one. He’s taken the blame for everything that’s gone wrong during his tenure, which began in May 2007.Now Rutherford is actively looking for another job and not expecting a warm sendoff when he leaves.“I’d think people would be happy to hear about his,” said Rutherford when I talked to him Tuesday about his job search. He is apparently in touch with his unpopularity.Truth be told, it would be hard to imagine more of a tumultuous six years than the ones Rutherford experienced in McMinnville.
