What a riveting weekend it was for WCMS athletics as the Pioneers and Lady Pioneers tried to kick, pitch and hit their way to three conference tournament championships.When the infield dust had settled, WCMS advanced to the finals of all three tournaments, capturing first place in boys soccer and second place in baseball and softball. At a time when folks often like to spend their days questioning the competitive fire of students in Pioneer Nation, it’s refreshing to see three teams with so much talent and fight. These players should all be proud of their on-the-field heroics.I’ll start with the WCMS soccer team, winners of three straight conference championships.
