TO THE EDITOR:
Since city officials seem to have $6 million burning a hole in their pockets, there are some things that need to be done before they add onto a building that seems able to handle the needs of our citizens.
Painting and floor coverings would be nice, but the restrooms are always clean and have no lines waiting. An indoor pool would be nice since there is none available here. I understand Gilley Pool is popular with several surrounding counties. An indoor pool would probably pay for itself.
However, I am talking about repairing our pathetic streets. They have all been patched so you have to dodge rough spots and big holes.
The sidewalks are cracked and broken. I can hardly turn out my street for the potholes.
To spend that much money it should benefit more people. There are privately owned gyms here in town which would be happy to have the overflow. But we can't get any money for the miserable streets we have to use.
