The time has come for the final K-Rob’s Korner. It has been an honor to write about all of the different teams around the county, during my nearly seven months as the sports reporter at the Southern Standard, but it’s now time to move on.I want to give thanks to all of the coaches, players and parents, who have supported me during my time here, and I also want to give thanks to all of the Standard staff for being so welcoming, helpful, and giving me a chance to fulfill a dream of mine.I also want to thank my family and friends for their support, especially my dad, wife and mamaw, because without y'all, I couldn’t have made it.Whoever gets the job next, I hope they will experience all of the good times like I have had during this journey, from watching the WCMS softball team capture a CTC championship this past season to most recently watching the WCHS football team whip up on the Lebanon Blue Devils.I’ve been part of some great sports moments during my short time here, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything. But now it’s time for me to start a new journey, as my wife and I are expecting a baby girl this upcoming January, and I have moved on to a job that will fit all of our schedules better. The goal when I got this job was to do it to the best of my ability, and I believe I have done that, but some people will disagree with that, and that’s okay.I was blessed, after graduating from Tennessee Tech University last December, to find a job so quickly out of college, when most of the time that seems impossible these day, and I was even more blessed to find this job, especially in a town where I was born and raised, which I will forever be grateful.I wish nothing but the best for the players and coaches on the Warren County, Covenant, Boyd and all the elementary school teams across the county.I hope whoever gets the job next has the passion for sports like I have had in my 26 years on this earth. If they do, I know they will do great at the job, like so many others have in the past.I hope to see y'all down the road, and that is highly possible, since we all live in such a small town, but once again thank you for your support and God bless.Go Pioneers and Roll Tide!
