The county is barking up the wrong tree with its stance on Animal Control.A proposal to change the name of Animal Control to Warren County Animal Control and Adoption Center was leashed Monday night by the committee which oversees its operation. In a manner void of compassion, Health and Welfare Committee chair Michael Martin made it clear the county isn't in the business of working to find homes for animals taken by the local shelter. Citing county policy, Martin said, "We aren't supposed to be in the adoption business at all really." He stressed the purpose of Animal Control is to be Animal Control and said helping the pets to find loving homes is none of the county's concern.Instead of arguing about semantics and what county policy may or may not indicate, there's one clear solution to this problem.
