McMinnville resident and Warren County native Wilma Charlene Smartt, 79, died Aug. 11 at River Park Hospital after a short illness.A homemaker and a member of Madison Street Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Wavie Roberts Curtis and was also preceded in death by her husband, George Floyd Smartt Jr., and daughter, Wanda Green Woods.She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and Robbie Hillis; stepson and wife, Jeff and Kristy Lowery of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Laurie Holt and husband Jeremy of McMinnville, Karmell Noe of Decatur, Ala., Layla Stern and husband Richard of Birmingham, Ala., Leah Ivey and husband Michael of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Scott of McMinnville; three nephews, and special friend, Thomas Owens of McMinnville.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Mike Hale and Carl Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Smyrna Cemetery.
