McMinnville resident and Smith County native Willie Dean Deckard, 78, died Feb. 16 at NHC after an extended illness.A homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Wash and Frances Warren Reed; and was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Deckard; son, Amos Lynn Deckard; sisters, Pheaby Collins, Sheaby Garrett and Ann Collins; and brother, Johnny Reed.She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jeanine and Doug Fults of Rock Island; four grandchildren, Jon Deckard and wife Tara of McMinnville, Jason Deckard of Rock Island, Zack Deckard of Morrison, and Terry D. Fults of McMinnville; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jessie McBroom of Cookeville, and Lois Woodard of Elmwood, and brother, Willard Reed of Lebanon.Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Jason Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Brick House Cemetery.
