William Leroy Haggard, 69, of Manchester died Wednesday, June 22, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.
Mr. Haggard was born Nov. 7, 1941, a native of Manchester. He was the son of the late Woodrow and Hazel Allison Haggard. He was an investigator with the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed hunting, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was a member of Hillsboro Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joy Leann Haggard.
Mr. Haggard is survived by his wife, Mary Lynne Corban Haggard of Manchester; one daughter, Emily Delight Haggard of Manchester; one stepson, James Michael Burr and his wife Cathy of Guntersville, Ala.; one stepdaughter, Sharon Burr Woodard and her husband Jim of Tullahoma; and six grandchildren Stone, Anna, Grace and Hope Woodard of Tullahoma, and Mathew and Megan Burr of Guntersville, Ala.
Funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bob Ruehling and Rev. Bruce Barger officiating. He will be entombed at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at Coffee County Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked donations be made to Hillsboro Community Back Pack Ministry c/o Hillsboro Baptist Church.
