McMinnville resident and Cordele, GA native William Karl Stansell III, age 68, was born Feb. 3, 1957 and died April 23, 2025 at his residence following an extended illness.

Karl was in the elevator industry for over 45 years. He was an elevator inspector and mechanic with Otis Elevator and retired from Otis as the Regional Field Engineer. He was the son of the late Virginia Bodrey Stansell. Karl loved his job and was an avid reader and book collector.

He was married to Cheryl Stansell of McMinnville on Nov. 2, 1975. In addition to his wife, Karl is survived by children, William Karl (Catherine) Stansell, IV and Cassie Lea Stansell-Cassell (Guy), both of McMinnville and Anastasia Leigh Stansell of Nashville; grandchildren, William Karl Stansell, V and Crystalle Storm Stansell; great-granddaughter, Avaleigh Grace Stansell and siblings, Steve Stansell and Mark Stansell, both of Florida.

Karl will be cremated. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
