Mr. Wayne Kenneth Armes, 88, of McMinnville died Saturday, Feb. 3, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro.

He was born Aug. 13, 1929, in Leitchfield, Ky., was a retired employee of Phillips Sales and Service, member of First Baptist Church, was a member of Sunset Masonic Lodge No. 915 F&AM, and served his country with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Armes was preceded in death by parents Hubert and Shella Armes, wife Marie Hunt Armes, and sisters Lois Howard and Dorothy Milner.

Survivors include children Jana Ward of Murfreesboro, Allison Armes of Franklin, and Bryan Armes of Lebanon, grandchildren Rachel Marie Ward and Justin Tyler Armes, and sisters Evelyn Armstrong and Juanita Swogger, both of Louisville, Ky. Other family members and friends also survive.

Funeral service was Tuesday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Owens officiating. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military grave rites were conducted by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. Online condolences may be made at www.mcminnvillefuneralhome.com.
