McMinnville resident and Van Buren County native Wavie Novella Hoover, 94, died Jan. 31 at Generations of Spencer.Retired from Genesco after 36 years of service and a member of the Church of Christ where she worshiped with the Central congregation, she was the daughter of Harrison Charles and Delia Curtis Moffitt and was preceded in death by siblings, Dona, Jesse Lee, Lester, Alpha and J.C. Moffitt, Eunice Christian, Minnie Whiteaker and Lona Kirby.She is survived by sister and brother-in-law, Velma and Aubrey Hutchings of Smithville; stepchildren, Harold and Emma Hoover of McMinnville, Edward and Nancy Hoover of Signal Mountain and Alene Southard of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at High’s Chapel with Teddy Jones officiating.
