Wanda Dishman Hale, 74

Wanda Dishman Hale, 74, passed away peacefully in her home Dec. 7, 2024. She is finally reunited with her beloved son, Timothy Dale Ferrell who preceded her in death.

She was born May 1, 1950, to the late Arnold Ray and Anna Mae McCormick Dishman. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John Leroy Hale and grandson Jonathan Hoyt Hale.

She is survived by her siblings, Wendall (Cindy) Dishman and Kathey (Wayne) Thompson. Along with their children and extended family.

Wanda was a devoted nursing assistant at NHC of McMinnville for 35 years and drove a school bus in Warren County for over 50 years before her retirement. She loved her nursing home residents and children who rode her bus.

Upon marrying John, Wanda gained four children, Hoyt Lee Hale, Debbie (Bryan) Mason, Terri Tanner and Missie (Ed) Griffin.

Wanda had many grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren that were special to her. She called them the “joys” of her days.

In the final years of her life, she grew close to family and was grateful for the Gentiva Hospice team and meals on wheels.

Wanda chose not to have a public funeral service, and the family will have a private service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels.

High Funeral Home and High’s Cremations, Inc. are in charge of arrangements.
