Walter E. (Wally) McClarren, Jr., born March 4, 1948 in Detroit, Mich., went to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2024.

Preceding Mr. McClarren in death are his parents, Walter McClarren, Sr., and Mary McClarren, and in-laws Hugh and Elizabeth Stubblefield of Warren County, and a brother-in-law Wayne Stubblefield, and late sister-in-law Teresa Stubblefield.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Pat Stubblefield McClarren; his children, Brent (Misty) Warren, Joy (David) Gornto of Knoxville, and Shannon (Charles) Martin of Nashville. Also surviving are grandchildren, Spencer (Annie) Warren, Parker Warren, Jacob Gornto, Christian Gornto, Charlie Martin III, John Martin, Gavin Martin and Joseph Martin; great-granddaughter, Finley Warren; brother-in-law Dale Stubblefield; and sister-in-law, Francisca Stubblefield. A number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A retired judicial commissioner for Warren County, Mr. McClarren was a life-long law enforcement officer, beginning a career in Detroit before moving to the Pinellas County, Fla., Sheriff’s Department.

Wally loved his Westwood Church of Christ family, where he was a long-time member. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Westwood youth group or Able Youth.com. Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. until noon at High Funeral Home. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. at Mt. View Cemetery. 

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
