Veronica Jean Stewart, 56, a Rock Island resident and Detroit, Mich., native died Sept. 16 at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital following a brief illness. She was a teacher with the Warren County School System and owner of Veronica Stewart Nursery, the daughter of Derwood Stewart of McMinnville and the late Mary Magdalene Counts Stewart. In addition to her father, she is survived by sister, Rhonda Stewart of McMinnville; two brothers, Brad Stewart and Chuck (Connie Bouldin) Stewart of McMinnville; niece, Maria (Justin) Lanier of McMinnville and nephew, Bradley Stewart of McMinnville and special friend, Lazaro Serna of McMinnville.
