Murfreesboro resident and Warren County native Velma Neely “Mama Temp” Templeton, 83, was born July 16, 1928 and died Sept. 1 at Community Care of Rutherford County in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
A realtor with Hometown Realty and member of Living Word Fellowship, she was the daughter of the late Monroe F. and Louvernia Jones Neely. She was married to Wilson C. “Temp” Templeton, who preceded her in death Dec. 27, 1985. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Nolan Neely.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Pauline Templeton of Prescott, Wis., and Garry and Chrystal Templeton of Bell Buckle; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Steve Frady of Lawrenceville, Ga.; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother, Fuller Neely of Shelbyville; four sisters, Ruby Thompson of Pulaski, Lila Rector of Springfield, Linda Neely of Gardendale, Ala., and Marie Walls of Smithville, and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends.
Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. today in High’s Chapel with Jim Zlaten officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service today at High’s.
High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
