Spencer resident and Sequatchie County native Tiny Moffitt Howard, 86, died Jan. 10 at Generations of Spencer after an extended illness.A retired factory worker and a member of the Baptist Church, she enjoyed quilting, gardening and cooking for her family. She was the daughter of the late Monroe and Gusty May Moffitt; and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Winton Howard; sisters, Gertrude Farley, Bernice Moffitt and Dainty Swafford; and brothers, Wesley Swafford, Ethel Clark and Raymond Clark.She is survived by son, Bron Howard of Spencer; daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Don Basham of McMinnville, Stella and Lloyd Powers of Spencer, Charlotte and Walter Thompson of Dunlap; grandchildren, Heath Thompson and Jerry Thompson of Spencer, and Candie Salatka of Washington; great-grandchildren, Paige Thompson of Spencer and Julian Salatka of Washington; sister, Eva Jane Minton of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.Services were held Thursday at High’s Chapel with Joseph Hayes officiating. Burial followed at Seitz Cemetery.High Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
