McMinnville resident and Warren County native Thelma Jean “T.J.” Bishop, 72, was born Feb. 27, 1948 and died Feb. 16 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville following an extended illness.
A retired line leader from Vi-Jon, she was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Dorothy M. Womack Grayson. She was married to James Alvin Bishop, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by son Darius M. Bishop, granddaughter Danielle C. Weir, and sister Vicky J. Talley.
Mrs. Bishop is survived by one son and daughter-inlaw, Christopher and Rita Weir of Murfreesboro, two daughters and son-in-law, Patrice A. and Danny Martin of McMinnville, and Sonja Raines of Detroit, Mich., six grandchildren, Denisha, Sharunda, Ashley, Donta, Chrishawna, and Chrinesha, six great-grandchildren, sister and brother-in-law Debra D. and Ronald Strode of McMinnville, brother and sister-in-law Thomas H. and Deborah Grayson of Lavergne, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friend Trent Strode of McMinnville also survive.
