McMinnville resident and Knoxville native Teresa Dawn Pitts, 67, was born Dec. 17, 1954 and died Jan. 12 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville following an extended illness.           

A retired housekeeper at NHC Healthcare in McMinnville, and member of Christian Fellowship Church, she was the daughter of the late Robert David and Lula Belle Chesher Scalf. 

Ms. Pitts is survived by sons, David (Candy) Collett of McMinnville, Derek “Hooper” Bowdoin and fiancée, Kayla Napier of Maryville, William Collett of Clarksville, and Jeffery Byrge of Shelbyville, 14 grandchildren, sister Linda (Ed) Thornburg of Kingston, and brothers, Neil (Susan) Scalf and Marty Scalf, both of Kingston, TN.

Ms. Pitts will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later time. No service or visitation will be held at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
