Teddy Lee Flatt, 65, a Sherrills Ford, N.C., resident and Lebanon native died July 13 at his residence following a short illness.
He was an engineer, in production management, sales and marketing. He was a 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Tenn. Tech University in 1972, Industrial Engineering University of Tenn. in 1974 and received his master’s in business from the University of Tenn. He had worked with Ingersoll Rand 1974-2001 and the Doosan Company from 2001-2013. He was a member of the Church of Christ and son of the late Lee William and Catherine Pruett Flatt.
Mr. Flatt is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Allysa Stern Flatt of Wilmington, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and David McMurtry of Brentwood; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Jane Flatt of McMinnville; nieces and husbands, Michele and Adam Bacalan and Jennifer and Joe Allen; two great-nephews and many friends in McMinnville, Columbia, and Sherrills Ford, the places he has lived and worked during his life.
Graveside service and interment will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 20 in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Tony Lawrence and Joe Gray to officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. and Monday at 9 until 10:30 a.m. at High’s. Memorials may be made to the I.C. Flatt Cemetery Fund or the American Kidney Foundation.
