Smithville resident Sara Jannette Cantrell Atnip, 93, died Feb. 7 at NHC Healthcare.A homemaker and a member of Smithville Cumberland Presbyterian Church, she was the daughter of the late Robert Biles and Mary Elizabeth Marchbanks Cantrell; and was also preceded in death by husband Dr. Norman Atnip and granddaughter Jennifer Atnip.She is survived by sons, Dr. Robert and Guylene Atnip of Smithville and Dr. Max and Patti Atnip of Cookeville, six grandchildren, Lisa and Greg Tramel of Baxter, Robert Roy Atnip Jr., Tara Jane Atnip Summers, Jared Atnip, all of Smithville, Becky and Chris Atnip Vincent of Oklahoma, Crystee Atnip Bennett of Rickman; eight great-grandchildren, Chase Tramel of Baxter, Caleb and Hillary Tramel of North Carolina, Ari Scott Cook of Smithville, Preston Grace Summers of Smithville, Jessica Lauren Gribble of Smithville, Brady Vincent and Josie Vincent of Oklahoma, Shelby and Tucker Bennett of Rickman; great-great-granddaughter Callen Tramel of North Carolina; and sister Maxine Hudson of Cookeville.Graveside services were held Saturday at Whorton Springs Cemetery.
