McMinnville resident and Franklin County native Samuel Myrel “Pete” McBride, 84, was born June 1, 1929 and died May 3 at his residence following an extended illness.A retired machinist and welder with Ford Motor Company, United States Marine Corps veteran of World War II and Korean and member of Westwood Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Clyde Fuston and Sarah Fay McCormick McBride. He was married to Margaret Bush McBride, who preceded him in death Nov. 26, 1994. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Clyde Edward McBride, and two sisters, Wilma Juhasz and Jewelldean Aligood.Mr. McBride is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Virginia McBride of McMinnville, Kenneth “Bo” and Kathy McBride of Knoxville, and Keith and Linda McBride of Smyrna; daughter, Doris Elaine Worrell of McMinnville; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Thomas C. McBride of McMinnville, and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service was held Tuesday in High’s Chapel with Bob Deason and William McCormack officiating.
