McMinnville resident and Warren County native Sally Davis Pryor, 84, was born March 10, 1940 and died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024 at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park following a sudden illness. 

A homemaker, hair stylist, former executive secretary of the Warren County Chapter of the American Red Cross and member of Central Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late George P. and Nena Capshaw Davis. She was married Nov. 21, 1956 to Edgar Wayne Pryor who preceded her in death March 14, 2016. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Carlon Monroe Davis, Clarence Aubrey "Bud" Davis, John Allison Davis, Columbus H. Davis and Bobby Glenn Davis and infant brother, David Gene Davis. 

Survivors include her sons, Mark Pryor (René Wilson) of McMinnville and Mitch (Angie) Pryor of Murfreesboro; daughter, Lesa (Paul Michael) Barnes of McMinnville; granddaughters, Nada (Skip) Jacobs and Grace Martin; great-grandchildren, Mason Jacobs, Mattie Jacobs and Henry Martin; sister, Ann (Charles) Hagar of Nashville, and many other family members and friends. A special mention for her longtime friend and caretaker, Lillian Harris.

Sally was loved by all that knew her and was known for her deep compassion for others, her hospitality and love of cooking for family and friends and her unwavering deep Christian faith.

Graveside service and interment will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Mt. View Cemetery with Tony Lawrence to officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon at High's.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund or the American Cancer Society.
