Roy Stanley Phillips, 78, a Wartrace resident and Madison County, Ala., native, was born Aug. 26, 1941 and passed away Feb. 9 at the Webb House following an extended illness.

He was a retired Vice President of Magnatek, a member of First Baptist Church of Beech Grove, and the son of the late John and Beulah Pearson Phillips.

He was married to Sarah Kelly Jones, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter Karen Phillips, two sisters Catherine Clendenon and Hazel Wanamaker and four brothers, Paul, Buddy, Elmer, and J.C. Phillips.

Mr. Phillips is survived by two sons, R. Stan (Jill) Phillips and Rick (Janet) Phillips, both of McMinnville, four grandchildren Allison Phillips of Knoxville, Axie (Josh) Vaughn of McMinnville, Tyler Phillips of Cookeville, and Katie Phillips of Sparta, one great-grandchild, Emerson Vaughn; one step-grandson, Josh (Rainee) Chappell of Bell Buckle, five step-great grandchildren, Emily (Parker) Filson, Jasmine Colbert, Sophia Chappell, Jackson Chappell, and Mia Widenhofer, brother Ray (Ann Marie) Phillips of Bell Buckle, and sister Linda (Homer) Simpson of Dunlap. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service was held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at High’s Chapel. Burial followed at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation was Monday and Tuesday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
