Centertown resident Robert O. “Rob” Jones, 65, died March 11 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.Born Feb. 12, 1950 in McMinnville, he was a former radio announcer with WAKI and WBMC for many years and was retired from Underwood True Value Hardware. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert N. (Bob) and Esther Jones; and his wife, Maxie Jones.He is survived by sons, Gabe (Tammy) Jones, Matt Jones and Misty Forth; stepsons, Brian (Lesa), and Eric (Shamane) Barks; grandchildren, Carabeth Jones, Colby, Ellie and Charlie Jones; step-grandchildren, Cameron and Phoebe Shaw, Kayla Barks Barnes and Amber Barks, Cole and Ethan Barks, Brianna and Ashton Forth; sisters, Sandra (Ronald) Jones and Doris (Donnie) Starkey; and several nieces and nephews.He was member of Centertown United Methodist Church where a memorial service is being planned for April 18.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
