Robert Kenneth Pliha, 87

McMinnville resident and New York City, NY native Robert Kenneth Pliha was born Nov. 6, 1937 and died May 26, 2025 at his residence following a brief illness.

A United States Army Veteran and a retired self-employed computer software engineer, he was the son of the late Louis and Maria Donscescs Pliha.

Mr. Pliha is survived by his wife, Linda Wilson of McMinnville; children, Chris (Stephanie) Pliha, Michael (Katie) Pliha and Susannah (Dr. Noah) Laracy, all of Los Angeles, CA; step-children, Jeff Thurston of Franklin, TN and Vanessa Ritter of Murfreesboro, TN; grandchildren, Ethan, Aidan, Beckham, Benjamin and Olivia Pliha and Ava Grace Laracy; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Trevor) Florence, Will Ritter, Connor Thurston, Sydney Thurston and Ellen Thurston; brother, Steve Pliha of Santa Barbara, CA.

Per Mr. Pliha’s wishes, he was cremated. A graveside service and inurnment will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. A celebration of life will be held at 5 p.m. at the family home later that day.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Amedysis Hospice. In addition, the family thanks Dr. Dannie Glover for his friendship and care to Mr. Pliha throughout his illness.
