Robert Jackson “Jack” Atnip, 76, of McMinnville (Centertown community) died Tuesday, April 6 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga.
He was born March 8, 1940, in Warren County and was a farmer, served two terms as Warren County Road Superintendent, was formerly employed with Benward Construction Company, and retired from Custom Construction and Asphalt Company. Mr. Atnip was a member of Highland Church of Christ and was preceded in death by parents Robert Lee and Nannie Amelia Walker Atnip and special uncle James Alton Walker.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years Bobbie Atnip; daughter Jackie (Buddy) Killian; granddaughter Keirsten Killian; stepchildren Ramona (Jerry G.) Cooper and Teressa (Jeff) Hinkle; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Chasity) Cooper, Renee (Jade) Willis, and Shelly (Russell) Lytle; several great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; brother, Johnny (Gail) Atnip, and sisters, Jill (Freddie) Davenport and Jane (Rocky) Davenport. Other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Ricky Burks and Bro. Richard Bowman will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.
