Rock Island resident Robert E. Cruz Jr., 87, died on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, at Raintree Manor with his family by his sideHe was a decorated veteran in the United States Army and served from 1948 to 1952. He worked at City Electric System in Key West until he retired.He is survived by spouse, Catherine Cruz Fales and five children, Michael R. Cruz, Randy L. Cruz, Vickie Cruz Derriso, Robert Kenneth Cruz and Charity Cruz White; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.A private memorial will be held at a later date.
