Smithville resident and Dekalb County native Robert Boyd Rhoady, 91, was born Feb. 18, 1932 and died June 14, 2023 at his residence following an extended illness.

A retired employee of Roadway Express Trucks and member of Gath Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Lillie Mae Waller Rhoady.  He was married to Oneeta Maxine Bain Rhoady of Smithville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Larry Rhoady; brothers, Billy, Jack and Sammy Rhoady and grandson, Larry Rhoady, Jr.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Rhoady is survived by children, Ron (Jan) Rhoady of Smithville, Judy (Jesse) Esparza of McMinnville and Mike (Ruthann) Rhoady of Morrison; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, June 19 in High’s Chapel with Rick Stewart and Brent Bain officiating. Burial will follow at Gath Baptist Cemetery in Warren County. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until time of service at High’s.
