Rita Askin Jennings, 83, of Owensboro, Ky., formerly of Hardinsburg, Ky., died Sunday, March 17 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on Sept. 24, 1929 in Breckinridge County, Ky., to the late Morris Lewis and Cora Butler DeJarnette. While in Hardinsburg, she and her first husband, L. C. Askin, owned and operated the Western Auto Store and she also owned and operated Rita’s Dress Shoppe.
