Ray R. Huggins, 85

McMinnville  resident and Warren County  native Ray R. Huggins, 85, was born July 22, 1929 and died Dec. 20 at Raintree Manor following a three-year illness.
He was retired from the military as a radio relay technician with two years in the United States Army in Maples, Italy and 18 years in the United States Air Force in Korea. A member of Hiawassee Church of Christ, he was the son of the late George and Arabella Roach Huggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter Cathy Huggins; brother Kenneth Huggins; and two sisters Marie Savage and Lillie Wood.
He was married March 27, 1988 to his wife of 26 years, Georgia M. Huggins of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jody Huggins of Farmington Hills, Mich., and Jory Huggins of Canton, Mich.; step-daughter, Gwendolyn E. Lewis of West Chester, Ohio; stepson, Terry L. Etter of Nashville; six grandchildren, Ebone Ashford and Conner Rae Huggins, both of Farmington Hills, Mich., Dominique Damron of Detroit, Mich., Jaclyn Huggins and Shara Huggins, both of Las Vegas, Nev., and Ariel S. Lewis of Ypsilanti, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in High’s Chapel with Ed Powell and George King officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Saturday at High’s.
