Randle Floyd Hitchcock, 93, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, was born May 29, 1927 and passed July 7 at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a retired farmer, a member of the Church of God, and the son of the late Horace Edward and Sophia Electa George Hitchcock. He was also preceded in death by first wife, Lucille Hitchcock, siblings Olney, Euclid, Carson, Houston, Buford, Carl, and Kenny Hitchcock, Winona Sellers and Clarice Young, and stepson Johnny Taylor.
Mr. Hitchcock was married Nov. 25, 1986 to Maudie Mai Lawson Hitchcock of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Rickey (Shannon) Hitchcock of Rock Island, five grandchildren Randy (Lori) Hitchcock of Rock Island, Jonathan (Allison) Hitchcock of Austin, Texas, Jamie (Jamison) Stanton of the Short Mountain community, Joshua Taylor of Houston, Texas, Jacob (Tyke) Taylor of McMinnville, six great-grandchildren, and brother Alvin (Dot) Hitchcock of Smithville.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 10, at Mt. View Cemetery with Bro. Jeff Page officiating. Military grave rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 173 Honor Guard. No visitation will be held at High’s. Online condolences may be made at www.highfuneralhome.com.
