Randel Barrett, 76, passed away suddenly at his home on Monday, March 4, 2024. He was born on June 28, 1947 to the late "Pete" and Mamie (Hampton) Barrett.  In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Janice Barrett. He was a devoted and loving husband.  He loved cooking for his wife. He was very proud of his son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and his passion in life was mechanic work. He'll always be remembered for his caring heart and love for others.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia Faye Barrett; son, Randel Lee (Tabathia) Barrett; grandchildren, Katelyn (Ivan) Garcia, Nicole (Glenn) Gehring, Alex Stills, Sierra (Jacob) Bell, Reygan Nelson, Arissa (Alex Poss) Lester, Rylie Barrett, Ayla Barrett and Romyn Barrett; great-grandchildren, Liam Garcia, Khaleesi Garcia, Yaretzi Garcia and Aloura Bell; brothers, Edwin Barrett and Gerald (Jana) Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.  

Funeral services will be Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Melvin Childers officiating.  Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard will be conducting military honors. Burial to follow at Airview Cemetery

Visitation was scheduled from 4 - 9 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Layne Funeral Home in Altamont, Tenn.
