Pinkney Andrew “Pink” Whaley, 69, of McMinnville died Sunday, March 11 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Sevierville and was a former employee of Coca-Cola Bottling Company, a self-employed general contractor, and served his country with the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Whaley was preceded in death by parents, Manley and Ida Packett Whaley; wife, Linda Chaffin Whaley; sisters, Ruthie Rolen, Maccle Williamson, and Ella Reagan; and brothers, Ira, Rabbit, and Mead Whaley.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Krista Whaley of St. Peters, Mo.; daughter, Amy Whaley of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Loretta King of Gatlinburg; and brother, Inloe Whaley of Sevierville; several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. today at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites will administered by American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064. The Whaley family will receive friends today from noon until 2 p.m. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made to
