Mrs. Patricia Irene (Dudek) Kelly, 39, of McMinnville passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, Feb. 26.

Patty was born on July 1, 1982 to Barbara and Edward Dudek in Colonia, N.J. After graduating from Bordentown Regional High School, Patty went on to complete her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Journalism from William Paterson College in New Jersey in 2005. Her first job was at Knowledge Beginnings Preschool in Princeton, N.J.

Patty was a resident of Bordentown, N.J., before moving to McMinnville in 2014 where she started a job at Warren County Middle School, and then Eastside Elementary School, both in McMinnville. She taught sixth grade ELA and social studies.  

Patty was well known throughout the McMinnville community for her teaching abilities as well as her coaching abilities. She was head coach of the cross country team for the Middle School and head coach of the track and field team for Warren County High School. Under her coaching, the cross country and track and field teams broke longstanding records previously held by other athletes. It was her dedication to the students and athletes that made her admired throughout the community. She had a vivacious personality and a smile that was contagious to everyone she met. Patty was a friend to everyone and is remembered for her kindness to everyone she met. 

Patty was preceded in death by her father, Edward John Dudek Sr., her maternal grandparents, Maria and Michael Paige, her paternal grandfather, John Dudek, her mother-in-law Denise Kelly and her uncle, Raymond Yack. Patty is survived by her husband, Patrick Kelly of McMinnville, her mother and father, Barbara and Dale Gardner of Smithville, her aunts and uncles, Irene and Thomas Dudek of Union, N.J., and Beth and Joseph Dudek of Wall Township, N.J., her father-in-law Robert Kelly of Sarasota, FL, her brother-in-law, Ryan Kelly of Sarasota FL, her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Meghan and Ryan Castillo of Orlando, FL, as well as numerous cousins.

There will be a memorial service held Tuesday at First Baptist Church, 403 N Spring St., McMinnville. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The memorial service will be held at 7 p.m.
