McMinnville resident and DeKalb County native Opheleon Jones Williamson, 94, was born Dec. 25, 1916 and died April 8 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness.The retired owner/ operator of a grocery store and laundromat and member of Locust Street Church of God, she was the daughter of the late Jesse P. and Roshie Marsh Jones. She was married to Johnny Lee “John” Williamson, who preceded her in death Feb. 6, 1990. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Arthur Jones and three sisters, Atha Davenport, Artha Hollingsworth and twin sister, Etheleon Jones Williamson.She was the beloved mother and grandmother of one son and daughter-in-law, J.F. and Judy Williamson of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Ronald Maynard of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Vickie Williamson, Angie Woods and husband Dwayne, Latisha Cox and husband Bobby, and Jason Williamson, all of McMinnville, and Kim Turner and husband Kip of Smithville; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
