Ms. Ollie Charlene Redmon Pickett, 77, of McMinnville, passed from this life Friday, Jan. 17, 2025 at Willow Branch Health and Rehab in McMinnville. Ms. Pickett was born Sept. 3, 1947 in DeKalb County to the late Charlie Roston and Lorene Slatton Redmon. She was a faithful member of Newtown The Baptist Church, was an immaculate housekeeper, and was a former employee of both Magnetek Century Electric and Walmart. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Pickett was preceded in death by siblings, James Calvin Redmon, Betty Redmon Prater (Herman), John Redmon (Imelda), Royce Redmon, Audrey Redmon Knowles (Eston) (Tom Russell).  Survivors include brother, Keith Redmon and wife Sherry; sister-in-law, Ruth Redmon; nephews, Stacey Redmon (Gina), Shane Redmon, Gary Prater (Elizabeth), Phillip Prater (Delilah), Jeff Redmon (Michelle), Levoy Knowles (Teresa), Terry Knowles (Pamela) and Chuck Knowles (Amanda); niece, Missy Barks (Russell); several great nieces and great nephews and special friend, Carolyn Sowell.

The funeral service for Charlene Pickett will be held on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 1 p.m. in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Brothers Cody Holman, Martin Bell and Darrell Cantrell will officiate. Interment will follow at the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home.

The family wishes to genuinely thank Gentiva Hospice for their kindness and wonderful care and a special thanks to all of the staff at Willow Branch who couldn’t have been any nicer during this final stage in Charlene’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Charlene's memory to Newtown The Baptist Church.
