Nellie Starkey, 85, a McMinnville resident and Warren County native, died Dec. 14 at St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. She was a homemaker, member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and daughter of the late Noah Howard Byron and Rena Catherine Jarrels Keel. Mrs. Starkey was married June 29, 1956 to Alford Bales “Hoot” Starkey who preceded her in death March 11, 2013.
