Nadia Evelyn Bowman Mitchell, 83, of McMinnville died Jan. 11 in Nashville with family at her side.
She was born March 20, 1930 to the late Edward and Johnnie Bowman. She worked as the secretary of Cole Elementary School until her retirement in 1995.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include husband, Earl T. Mitchell; their children, Pamela Lynn, Patricia (Bill) Witt, Master Sgt. Phillip (Vicki) Mitchell USMC Ret.; grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda Witt, Craig Mitchell, Brad (Jessica) Lynn, Ryan Lynn, Tori (Jonathan) McPherson; great-grandchildren, Jordin Mitchell, Delaney Lynn, Gray Lynn, and Taylor McPherson; brother, Randall (Judy) Bowman; sister, Sandy (Bob) Fegenbush; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted by David Hale on Thursday at 2 p.m. at Gath Baptist Church, 6967 Smithville Highway. Interment will follow at Gath Cemetery. The Mitchell family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at High Funeral Home. Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. by Claiborne Chapter No. 144 OES.
