McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Myrtle Brock, 95, was born Sept. 16, 1922 and died Dec. 7 at Southern Hills Hospital in Antioch following a sudden illness.

A homemaker, a member of the Assembly of God Church, and last attended Morrison United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jasper Paul and Lenora Roberts King. She was married Sept. 14, 1938 to James Allie Brock, who preceded her in death Feb. 26, 1963. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four children, James Lurton Brock Sr., Charlie Brock and twins, Alton and Aulton Brock; grandson Jonathan Brock; four sons-in-law, James Alvin Craven, Foster J. Pinkston, Floyd C. Craven and James Bryant Seals; and daughter-in-law Lynda Sue Sparkman Brock.

She is survived by eight children and spouses, Trula Joyce Brock Pinkston of McMinnville, Anna Christine Brock Seals of Manchester, Clara Bell and Gordon Ray McGee Sr. of McMinnville, Allie Marie and Harold D. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, at High’s Chapel with Lanny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Grundy County. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at High’s. Online condolences may be made at
