McMinnville resident and Spencer native Mozelle Templeton Bess, 84, died March 1 at NHC in McMinnville after an extended illness.A retired bookkeeper with Warren Farmers Co-op and a member of the Church of Christ at St. Mary, she was the daughter of the late John Sam and Parriett Curtis Templeton, and was preceded in death by son, Gary Thomas Bess; six brothers, Floyd, Homer, Leslie, Curtis, Clifford and Charles Templeton; and sisters, Mildred Templeton and Ruth Medlock.She is survived by her husband, Willie Eugene Bess of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Terrie and Gary Duncan of Jefferson, Ga.; four grandchildren, Halie and Emily Bess of Ashland City, Linsay Duncan of Cleveland, and Grant Duncan of Boca Raton, Fla.; one great-grandchild; sister, Pauline Mitchell of Cummingsville; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Templeton of Lenior City; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at High’s Chapel with Bobby Wilhite and Greg Rains officiating. Burial will follow at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, and Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at High’s.High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.Southern Standard (McMinnville, Tenn.)
