Mrs. Minnie Geraldene Watson, 88, of McMinnville died Saturday, May 19, at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.She was born in McMinnville on June 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Beulah (Lusk) and William Carr. She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.She is survived by daughter, Diane M. Watson (Antonio) of Detroit, Mich.; son, Eugene (Kathy) Watson of McMinnville; two grandsons, Andre Watson and Justin Watson of McMinnville, and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Baker of Detroit, Mich.; several nieces, nephew, and cousins and a host of friends.Mrs. Watson is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Watson Jr.; parents, William and Beulah (Lusk) Carr; seven sisters, Elmer Louise Pleasant, Audie Marie Johnson, Roberta Drake, Jennie Woods, Goldie Grayson, Lula Carr, Emma Irene Beard; and four brothers, Eugene Carr, Jess Carr, Luther Martin, Clarence Worthington.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Gardens of Memory Funeral Home with pastor Shaphin Martin and George King officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Charge Cemetery in McMinnville.
