McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mildred Eloise Grove, 97, was born Aug. 28, 1917 and died Sept. 5 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness.A homemaker and a member of Smyrna Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Emmit and Marilda Curtis. She was married June 2, 1935 to Clabe Grove, who preceded her in death Oct. 19, 1991. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son, Lavoy Grove; four sisters, Daphene Coppinger, Mary Betty Christian, Leoma Clendenon and Ollie Mae Walker; and brother, Lawrence Curtis.She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Christine Grove Mitchell of Smithville, and Gloria and Billy Jones of McMinnville; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sandra Grove of Soddy Daisy; eight grandchildren, Erica Grove, Sidney Grove, Debbie Coleman, Jimmy Mitchell, Sharon Shedd, Kevin Mitchell, Rhonda Pelham and Donna Johnson; and 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at High’s Chapel with Jonathan Stubblefield officiating.
