McMinnville resident and Warren County native Michael Lee Tanner, 59, was born Dec. 24, 1957 and died Sept. 10 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.A state trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol and a member of New Voice Worship Center, he was the son of Thomas Tanner Sr. of McMinnville and the late Mary Elizabeth Tanner. He was married to Janice Scruggs Tanner of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by four children and their spouses, Shana Tanner, Cotey and Blaine Tanner, and Karrington and Peyton Blackwell, all of McMinnville, and Whitney and Kyle Grissom of the Rocky River community; six grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leisa and Tommy Crawford of McMinnville and Angie and Ricky Bost of McMinnville; and brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Dena Tanner of McMinnville.Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13 at High’s Chapel with Daniel Campbell and Anthony Campbell officiating.
