Mr. Michael Joe Byars, 58, of McMinnville, died Friday, July 14, 2023. He was born Sept. 12, 1964, in McMinnville, was a truck driver with Donaldson Trucking, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his fur baby Tank. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Byars, and his grandparents, Fred and Paralee Tittsworth and Alvie and Delma Byars.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Carter Byars; mother, Emley Byrd; daughter, Chrystal Patton; son, Jeremiah (Samantha) King; sister, Brand (Lucas) Foutch; brother, Lonnie (Ginger) Byars; grandchildren, Michael (Kaitlyn) King, Hailey King, Jaden King, Sarah Rains, Legend King and a grandchild on the way – Abel; a great grandchild on the way – Motley; and a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 19 at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Michael Harris will officiate. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. The family received friends on Tuesday from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. and will again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.
